Mass Audubon Boston Nature Center
With support from Mass Audubon, we are putting 14 new trees into the food forest at Boston Nature Center. Come meet the trees and help them get a good start, and consider adopting a tree to care for over time.
Dwarf Black Chokeberry, Hickory Pecan, Conelian Cherry, Sweet Cherry, Asian Pear, Paw Paw and Goumi – two of each!
Mass Audubon’s Boston Nature Center is partnering again this year with TD Bank and The Arbor Day Foundation for TD Tree Days. On Thursday, October 12 from 9:00am-12:00pm volunteers from TD Bank as well as BNC partner group Work, Inc. will join together to plant 20 trees and 20 shrubs at the sanctuary along the Rabbit Trail, meadow edge, and 14 trees in Boston Food Forest. The planting of additional trees will create a visual green living fence along land that will be developed in the future. Now in its seventh year, TD Tree Days will bring together more than 1,000 community members and TD employees from September through early November to plant approximately 850 trees in 21 communities across the United States. TD Tree Days will be managed with support from The Arbor Day Foundation. Volunteers will meet at 9:00am at the BNC for training and plant until 11:30am. Lunch is provided afterward for all volunteers.
