Our host, Samantha Tan, has a lovely yard bordering a community garden that her family has just recently moved into. In the Fall, BFFC hosted a garden raising during which we sheet mulched, built terraces on contour, prepared beds for spring planting, and more. This spring we’ll complete the re-imagination of Samantha’s garden by filling in the beds with multi-functional plants that are good for butterflies and bees and also plant a mulberry bush and some blackberry bushes. We’ll learn about various functional and architectural plants and continue to bring new life to the land.
Music, lunch and snacks are provided! Come join us for the fun! This is a family-friendly event. All are welcome.
This is a great chance to meet and connect with others in the community, learn about permaculture, and pick up on great gardening practices. No experience is necessary. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND THE WHOLE EVENT! You are free to come and go as you please. If you have gardening gloves or tools we would love for you to bring them. If not, we’ll have you covered. Feel free to message us or post here with any questions!
Please note that this home is not accessible to people with mobility impairments.
