Cassidy Chang
Program Coordinator
cassidy@bostonfoodforest.org
Cassidy’s role with the Boston Food Forest Coalition is to work with park stewardship teams to support and enhance their volunteer engagement efforts. She works with teams to plan and host community events, to access tools and resources, and to build team capacity to reach overall volunteer goals.
Cassidy is a graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelors of Art in Environmental Studies. She previously worked as a Raised Bed Fellow for the Office of Food Justice and Program Coordinator for the GrowBoston: Office of Urban Agriculture. While working with the City of Boston, she developed a foundational knowledge of the food systems network in Boston and gained a deep appreciation for being a member of the vibrant and diverse community working to strengthen Boston’s food network.
Cassidy has been a part of various social justice organizing campaigns. During her college career, she was involved with the March For Our Lives movement, the Sunrise movement, divestment campaigns, and anti-war movements. She views her activism as a chance to extend her environmentalism in an intersectional lens, recognizing that environmental justice is only possible when done in solidarity with other activists.
Outside of work, Cassidy is an avid climber, biker, and train enthusiast. Cassidy’s undergraduate thesis was on sustainable multi-modal transportation in her hometown of San Jose, California. If you ever ask her about her opinions on progressive city design or zoning law reform, she’ll be happy to talk your ear off!
