Fruit Tree Pruning & Winterizing a Food Forest Workshop

  • Old West Church Food Forest 131 Cambridge Street Boston, MA, 02114 United States (map)

Join BFFC & the OWC Food Forest stewards for a late-fall workshop offering on fruit tree pruning and winterizing a food forest/garden space. The session will be led by Ben Crouch, an edible and native plant specialist and founder of Land of Plenty Organics in Boston.

We’ll learn how to prune fruit trees and prepare them for the winter months ahead, particularly the Roxbury Russet apple trees and other apple, cherry, and plum trees in the Old West Church Food Forest.

We’ll also explore how to create a thriving garden sanctuary with easy-to-grow herbs, nourishing medicinal plants, and pollinator-friendly blooms — and how to prepare these spaces for winter. We hope you’ll join us!
